The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Council's in NSW with the most culturally, socially and economically diverse communities in Sydney. We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents.

The role

We're seeking an experienced Learning & Development Specialist to lead the end-to-end delivery of key Learning & Development projects that support CBCity's People Strategy.

This role plays a vital part in shaping workforce capability by working closely with stakeholders to design, manage, and implement strategic Learning & Development initiatives that drive organisational goals.

This role is being offered as a temporary full-time opportunity for a 12-month period.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Lead end-to-end L&D projects aligned with strategic goals.
• Manage project timelines, delivery, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate internal and external training programs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs to design and deliver effective learning initiatives.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships for smooth project execution.
• Ensure alignment with project objectives across People & Performance.
• Evaluate learning solutions for compliance and best practice.
• Conduct learning needs assessments and tailor content using data insights.
• Support organisation-wide L&D and capability development initiatives.

You will have

• Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience in Learning & Development, Organisational Development, Human Resources, or Project Management.
• A current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Extensive Learning & Development/Organisational Development experience within multi-disciplinary organisations.
• Proven track record in managing and delivering organisation-wide projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and influencing skills.
• Proficient with LMS, eLearning platforms, and related technologies.
• Skilled in adult learning facilitation across diverse environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced settings.

Experience with SAP and/or SuccessFactors, Learning Management System administration, and working in the public sector or large corporate environments is not essential but will be highly regarded.

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $101,423 (Grade H, Step 1) + 11.5% super.Salary is negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
