Overview

Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking an Apprentice Plant Operator to join the Infrastructure team. This is a permanent full-time, fixed-term apprenticeship for up to three years with a Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations to be completed during the program.

About The Role

Council currently has an excellent opportunity to commence an apprenticeship as a Plant Operator. The successful applicant will be employed for up to three (3) years and Council will fund all related training expenses as approved by Council.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023. Council applies Equal Employment Opportunity Principles and female applicants are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities / What you will do

The role involves learning and performing plant operation duties as part of the Infrastructure team while completing the required traineeship. Daily responsibilities will be guided by the apprenticeship program and supervisor.

About You

Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications:

  • Class C Drivers Licence - at a minimum Provisional Licence
  • Genuine interest in plant operations and civil construction
  • Commitment to complete the traineeship within the required timeframes
  • Positive attitude, teamwork, willingness to learn
  • Punctuality and good attendance
  • Ability to use all personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to complete time and plant sheets
  • Sound numeracy and literacy skills
  • White Card (WHS Construction Induction) or completion prior to employment
