About the RoleThis role blends engineering expertise, technical sales, and client solutions with strategic business development. You'll be at the centre of our commercial operations—supporting customers with detailed engine overhaul and engineering proposals, while driving growth and strategic opportunities across the business. We are a growing business with the desire to capitalise on our strong reputation and grow our sales within our customer base and the industry. You'll work closely with the BDM/Sales Manager, General Manager, and senior leaders across Teterin Engineering, Cirrus Power Systems, and Teterin Supply, giving you exposure to the full spectrum of our group operations.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Quotations & Sales: Prepare accurate, detailed quotations and proposals based on engineering specifications, scopes of work, and quality standards. Analyse customer requirements for large engine overhauls and component reconditioning. Liaise with workshop managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure quotations are technically sound and commercially competitive.
- Customer Engagement: Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing clients across mining, energy, marine, and industrial sectors. Provide clear technical advice and solutions, ensuring confidence and trust in our expertise.
- Business Development & Strategy: Identify and pursue new opportunities where our engine overhaul and machining capabilities add value. Support marketing initiatives and contribute to long-term business planning.
- Leadership & Team Support: Guide and mentor internal job coordinators on commercial and quoting processes and customer interactions. Support alignment between the sales function and workshop and operations teams.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Provide accurate sales tracking, quotation conversion data, and pipeline forecasting. Contribute to commercial reporting for management and strategic planning.
- Industry Engagement: Travel as required to customer and partner sites, inspections, and trade events, etc.
- Proven experience in technical sales, ideally in engineering, machinery, or heavy industrial sectors.
- A solid understanding of diesel engines, component reconditioning, or mechanical systems and parts sales would be desirable.
- Experience in quoting, estimating, and pricing for technical projects.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Leadership experience or a demonstrated ability to step into a leadership role.
- CRM proficiency.
- Technically Grounded: You bring an engineering qualification or hands-on experience in engine service, heavy machinery, or industrial equipment. You understand the technical detail behind overhauls, machining, and component reconditioning along with conforming to procedures relating to quality assurance.
- Commercially Aware: You can translate technical scope into accurate, competitive quotations and see the commercial implications of engineering decisions.
- Revenue & Results Driven: You are motivated by achieving growth in revenue, protecting profit margins, and converting technical opportunities into strong sales outcomes.
- Organised & Detail-Oriented: You thrive in balancing multiple technical projects, quotes, and client requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborative Leader: You're comfortable working with workshop supervisors, trades teams, and management alike—building alignment and leading by example.
- Strong Communicator: You can confidently explain complex technical solutions to clients, from site managers to senior executives, building trust and credibility at every level.
