Vet Direct are excited to be recruiting for a Warehouse Operative who will be based at our warehouse in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This is a full-time role working Monday – Friday 09:00-17:00.

Within this role the successful applicant will be working as part of a team in a busy, fast-paced warehouse under the guidance of the warehouse leadership. Picking and packing orders effectively. Adhering to courier deadlines. Receiving deliveries, checking in stock, locating stock safely. Following excellent general and CVS specific housekeeping.

Other Key Responsibilities Include

  • Picking and packing customer orders accurately using Hand Held Scanners. (Despatch)
  • Stock taking/checking
  • Taking delivery of stock and supplies (Goods In).
  • Inspecting goods and verifying quantity and quality (Goods In)
  • Booking in all returns and processing customer paperwork (Goods In)
  • Booking in POs and locating stocks using the OrderWise system and Hand held scanners. (Goods In)
  • Checking in stock and locating to suitable safe area (Goods In)
  • Keeping all paperwork up to date
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Additional
  • Forklift counter balance, stacker truck driving (Specific trained staff only)
  • Entering all information into the DHL/courier system
  • Preparing pallets ready for courier collection
  • Loading and unloading lorries and other vehicles
  • Maintaining warehouse machinery
  • Using the baler including removing the bales (full training will be given).

Experience and Key Skills Required:
  • Ability to challenge the 'status quo', bringing a creative approach to solutions that support continuous Improvement.
  • Good understanding of GDP, continuous improvement.

  • The ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately
  • Good teamwork
  • An good understanding of health and safety
  • A willingness to be flexible when required
  • A good level of fitness

Desirable
  • Experienced in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Experience of WMS systems – Orderwise knowledge & the use of hand held scanners would be a distinct advantage.
