Where You'll Be Working

Based in the Oncology Day Unit at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital, you'll be part of an integrated, purpose-built cancer centre opened in 2015. This unit provides medical oncology and haematology care, and also functions as an infusion centre for patients across the northern half of Hunter New England Local Health District.

You'll join a multidisciplinary team including Medical Oncology and Haematology specialists, Cancer Care Coordinators, a McGrath Nurse Consultant, nursing colleagues, and Allied Health professionals. About The Role

As Nurse Practitioner – Oncology, you will deliver advanced and extended nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, as defined by the agreed scope of practice. Your role will span complex patient assessment, diagnosis, and the management of oncology-related health concerns, contributing to timely, coordinated care alongside medical and nursing colleagues.

This is a highly autonomous, clinically focused position offering you the opportunity to lead within your specialty while supporting the wider team and driving quality care outcomes for oncology and haematology patients.

You are a dynamic, highly skilled Nurse Practitioner with advanced oncology experience and a passion for leading high-quality, person-centred care. You possess strong critical thinking skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to manage emotionally complex situations with professionalism and empathy.

Requirements
  • Current Authority to Practice as a Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications and endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Demonstrated experience and clinical capability in the specialty of oncology
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work-related purposes
