This role is responsible for managing and maintaining the financial aspects of our commercial leasing arrangements, ensuring accurate financial reporting, verifying lease terms, and upholding the conditions of lease agreements.

Role Purpose

To support the Management Accounting team by assisting in the completion of an accurate and timely month-end close to help key stakeholders with decision making.

To analyse monthly results and liaise with stakeholders across the business to identify variances against forecast and advise on areas for improvement. To assist with balance sheet reconciliations, including investigation of material reconciling items.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage budgeting and financial policies for organisational operations and commercial leases, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to key stakeholders, including management, landlords, boards, and shareholders.
  • Analyse financial data and conduct audits related to business operations, commercial leases, capital investments, and risk assessments.
  • Review and verify lease terms and payment structures, ensuring accuracy in rent reviews, options, outgoings, and other charges as per lease agreements.
  • Prepare and manage tax filings for the company, advise on tax planning and compliance issues.
  • Examine operating costs of the venues against lease provisions to determine charges are valid and in accordance with legal obligations.
  • Provide assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and leases to ensure legal compliance.
  • Assist in formulating and verifying rent and outgoing budgets, and compare variances year on year.
  • Implement and maintain accounting and internal control systems to safeguard assets, monitor supplier invoices, and ensure accurate reporting across rent and ad-hoc expenses.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial statements and reconciliation reports, meeting organisational and statutory requirements.
  • Assist in strategic financial planning, including budget creation, forecasting, and analysing variances between performance and expectations.
What We Need From You
  • Experience in lease administration software (not necessarily Lease Eagle).
  • Ability to review leases and extract critical information regarding landlord/tenant responsibilities for repairs and maintenance.
  • Ability to review the portfolio for operating expenses and other ad hoc charges.
  • Resolution of finance queries including reconciliation of accounts.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including intermediate Excel.
  • Technical or functional expertise with strong numeracy skills.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, effective organisation, and time management.
  • Ability and desire to grow with the organisation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, high drive, motivation, initiative, and resilience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, honesty, integrity, and trust.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
Experience And Background
  • Bachelor's degree majoring in finance
  • At least 2 years' relevant experience
  • Studying towards CA or CPA preferred

Salary range: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 depending on experience
