Overview

Operation's Manager at Brisbane's most iconic venue, Brisbane City Hall. GEMA Group, Australia's premier event and catering company, has an exciting opportunity to lead day-to-day operations across Brisbane City Hall with up to 11 function and event spaces for public and private use.

Based in one of Australia's most iconic venues, this role requires a highly organized individual who can engage with numerous stakeholders and event partners to ensure business operations run efficiently and service excellence is achieved daily.

Brisbane City Hall has hosted defining events in the city's history, and the role supports delivering memorable experiences through high-quality F&B concepts, innovation and service.

Responsibilities

The Operations Manager will oversee all facets of day-to-day operations across a large, intricate venue, including:

  • Managing multiple function and event spaces and coordinating with stakeholders and partners
  • Maintaining high standards of service excellence and operational efficiency
  • Overseeing front-of-house and back-of-house operations in collaboration with event teams
  • Planning and executing large-scale events (weddings, galas, corporate events, exhibitions, council engagements, etc.)
  • Ensuring financial acumen and effective resource management
Qualifications / Experience
  • Senior operational leadership experience, preferably in premium high-volume catering environments
  • Experience managing large food and beverage teams
  • Willingness to be hands-on in event delivery as required
  • Knowledge of front-of-house and back-of-house operations
  • Experience with major event planning and venue logistics
  • Strong planning and organization skills with keen attention to detail
  • Desire to stay abreast of current and future trends
  • Calm, professional demeanor; ability to inspire and develop a cohesive team
  • Ability to foster a culture of respect and drive creativity
  • Developed financial acumen
  • Management qualifications will be well regarded
  • Flexibility to work a variety of hours to support event delivery
