We are on the hunt for someone with proven experience in client management and operational management in public practice with the right personality fit. We're talking about managing service delivery across our growing client base of expanding mid-size companies. Our preference is for this role to be either full time or part time across 5 days to suit the right candidate, and we will offer flexibility for the right person.
About UsAt Diverse Business Consultants we are a fully remote team of 33 (100% onshore) providing Xero bookkeeping and cloud consulting services to businesses throughout Australia. We are proud of our status as Xero Platinum Partners and have an enviable client base with some really cool thriving businesses.
We are on a fast growth trajectory and are therefore looking for an experienced Operations Manager to drive service delivery excellence with our 5 Team Leaders and the corresponding bookkeeping teams. This role reports directly to the CEO and you will be a trusted and influential member of the executive team.
About the RoleThe position can be either full time or part time across 5 days (30 hours) to suit the right candidate. We are proud of our flexible working environment and welcome innovative discussions on arrangements that get the job done AND bring an epic person to our team.

Responsibilities- Service Delivery Excellence
- Manage client relationships, ensuring timely, high-quality service delivery
- Hold full responsibility for workflow, capacity planning and scheduling work across 5 bookkeeping teams
- Ensure client deadlines are met and quality standards maintained
- Directly manage and develop team of 6-7 Team Leaders
- Manage team WIP, productivity, budgets and workflow schedules
- Provide mentoring, technical guidance and support to lift team performance
- Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Lead continuous improvement projects (automation, process documentation, software rollouts)
- Monitor KPIs, track performance, and support management decision-making
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and practice obligations
Essential attributes
- Minimum 2 years operational management experience in professional services (accounting/bookkeeping preferred)
- Proven leadership experience with team management, workflow coordination and staff development
- Strong experience in client management and service delivery
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication, delegation and problem-solving abilities
- Commercial acumen with a track record of improving revenue drivers (WIP, billing, efficiency)
- Strong working knowledge of Xero and proficiency with business technology including GSuite, Zoom, Hubdoc, Dext, Xero Practice Manager
- BAS Agent registered
- Experience managing a remote team
