About This Role

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for product innovation and digital transformation within professional services? Our firm seeks an accomplished individual to lead the internal product strategy and delivery across our Private Business Tax & Advisory Service Line, driving industry-leading excellence and enabling sustainable, enterprise-wide impact.

You will oversee the evolution and execution of our internal product vision, working in close collaboration with C-suite executives, senior business unit leaders, and technology teams. Your mandate: to ensure Grant Thornton's digital solutions are at the forefront of the sector, meeting the unique needs of our practitioners and clients in a highly regulated, rapidly evolving environment.

You will lead and mentor a high-performing product organisation, shaping a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. You will serve as a key interface between technology, business operations, and executive leadership—actively influencing the direction of internal products, establishing frameworks for governance, and building strategic partnerships that unlock value and drive positive change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the service line's internal technology vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with overall objectives and firm strategy.
  • Collaborate with C-suite executives, business leaders, and technology teams to secure buy-in and drive product-driven transformation.
  • Collaborate with transformation leads in Audit, Financial Advisory and Tax to ensure that innovation developed in other services lines is realised in Private Business Tax & Advisory Service Line and deliver product-driven innovation opportunities where applicable.
  • Establish and maintain product development frameworks, governance, and metrics for a regulated professional services environment.
  • Oversee product investments and resource allocation across business areas, optimising ROI and portfolio outcomes while lowering the overall cost of delivery.
  • Implement innovative solutions and set clear expectations for desired outcomes. Measure performance against these expectations to ensure goals are met. Recognize that successful outcomes are achieved through the effective use of tools and actively collaborate with business units to ensure these tools are utilized effectively.
  • Build strategic relationships with key technology vendors, partners, peer firms, and corporate functions such as Risk, Legal, Compliance, Finance, HR, and Operations to ensure enterprise requirements are met.
  • Participate in leadership committees and industry forums to influence product innovation and stay current with trends, including AI and automation.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
  • 8+ years' experience in a major professional services firm, with deep understanding of client services and regulatory environments
  • Proven track record in building and scaling product organisations and leading organisational transformation in regulated, enterprise settings
  • Experience managing distributed, multidisciplinary teams and product budgets
  • Expertise in modern product development methodologies and implementation of emerging technologies, including AI and automation
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with risk management, regulatory compliance, and corporate functions
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, PMP, Agile) highly regarded
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance innovation and operational excellence
