Housekeeping Assistant | Permanent Full Time – Merewether

The Opportunity

The purpose of the Housekeeping Assistant role is to contribute to a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents by ensuring all designated areas within Anglican Care's Aged Care facilities are cleaned and maintained to the high standards set by Anglican Care and the Aged Care Quality Standards.

The Housekeeping Assistant will work collaboratively with team members across the facility, fostering strong communication and teamwork to support resident satisfaction and the successful delivery of housekeeping services.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Support residents by cleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness as set out in cleaning and infection control manuals
  • Assist residents through interactions with residents, their families, and visitors
  • Safety in handling, cleaning, and usage of cleaning equipment and chemicals
  • Follow and complete the work schedule and duties of the shift rostered; duties may include mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and laundry duties
  • Communicate effectively with all employees to ensure teamwork and achievement of the role
  • Follow all safe work practices and WHS practices
  • Liaise with the Cleaning Team Leader to ensure housekeeping is timely and professionally attended to
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with residents and their relatives to ensure their needs are met
  • Consult with stakeholders as relevant to the role, ensuring effective communication with Anglican Care team and external suppliers in all aspects of service delivery
  • Uphold privacy and confidentiality
About You
  • Previous housekeeping experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and within a team
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service skills
  • Current driver's licence
  • Current NDIS Check
  • National Police Check (the Diocese will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes)
