Overview

Enrolled Nurse – Night Shift (Winter Surge Beds) role at John Hunter Hospital. Permanent night shift in a low-acuity, high-support environment with focus on patient care. Where You'll Be Working

John Hunter Hospital, located in New Lambton Heights, near Newcastle. A world-class medical facility with connections to major roads and public transport, serving the Hunter region and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualised, high-quality patient care under the guidance of experienced Registered Nurses.
  • Be supported by a dedicated Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Educators who provide leadership, mentorship, and ongoing development.
  • Contribute to a calm, consistent night-shift environment and collaborate with a well-supported team.
Requirements
  • Enrolled Nurse with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA (Medication Endorsed where applicable).
  • Available for permanent night shift.
  • Compassionate and caring, with a genuine commitment to patient-centred care.
  • Detail-oriented, professional and ethical, with a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise in a dynamic environment.
  • Eligibility statements regarding Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identity apply for targeted recruitment per section 21 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

  • 4 weeks annual leave (pro-rata for part-time); 6 weeks annual leave for eligible full-time nurses; paid parental leave.
