About the role

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation care plans, delivering patient-centred nursing care aligned with individual goals. You will join a specialist rehabilitation team providing care for patients recovering from Acute Stroke, Limb Amputation, new or chronic Neurological Disorders, and Aged Care needs. You will have opportunities to develop advanced rehabilitation skills with a focus on enablement in the inpatient setting. A dedicated specialist rehabilitation education team and preceptorship from a Clinical Nurse Specialist support your transition into the role.

Where you'll be working

John Hunter Hospital Rankin Park Centre is a leading public Rehabilitation Unit in the Hunter. Rehabilitation is provided to patients following Stroke, Acquired Brain Injury, other neurological disorders, lower limb amputation, general debility and reconditioning for the adult age group.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centred nursing care within the rehabilitation setting.
  • Engage with patients to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation care plans.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve patient goals and positive outcomes.
  • Identify early signs of deterioration and escalate care according to protocol.
Requirements
  • Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with no notations regarding medications.
