This role reports to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Breach Reporting and Compliance and principally assists Marsh McLennan's Line 2 Compliance function in respect of compliance incidents and breaches to ensure the organisation meets regulatory requirements for relevant regulators. The role will provide compliance advice on regulatory requirements to ensure MMC operates in compliance with its policies, procedures and regulatory obligations.

We will count on you to:

  • Support the Incident and Breach Management frameworks, policies, tools, systems and processes required for the organisation to effectively manage compliance risks.
    • Provide expert compliance advisory services and support on compliance incidents and breach reporting particularly in respect of superannuation, investments, financial advice, administration, insurance, privacy and AML / CTF incidents.
    • Undertake compliance assessments of compliance incidents to support the regulatory breach assessment processes.
      • Present compliance assessments to relevant stakeholders and forums as required.
      • Support the governance of relevant forums such as the Significant Incident Review Panel including preparation of supporting documentation, preparation of minutes and reporting to relevant stakeholders.
        • Assist in the provision of compliance advice, insights, themes, trends to key stakeholders including boards, committees and other forums in relation to incidents and breaches.
        • Preparation of reporting to regulators in respect of investigations, breaches and responding to regulatory requests for information.

What you need to have:

  • Experienced compliance or legal professional with exposure in regulatory compliance, incident and breach management within in the Australian financial services industry preferred.
  • Experience working in or providing services to a regulated financial services organisation, with a strong understanding of regulatory obligations in particular superannuation, investments, administration, advice and insurance broking and the ability to interpret and apply associated legislative requirements.
  • Ability to rapidly analyse and communicate complex matters in a commercially sensible way.
  • Ability to provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders on compliance incidents.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Sound knowledge and understand of Risk Management systems, frameworks and processes particularly in respect of incident and breach reporting.
