APS6 Senior Program Officer - Grants

About the opportunity

Join an Australian Public Service team within a national cancer control context, working across partnerships and equity initiatives to improve outcomes for people affected by cancer. You'll manage a portfolio of research grants/projects and keep stakeholders informed, ensuring delivery against program objectives and guidelines.

What you'll do
  • Assess and analyse grant reporting against guidelines and procedures and make sound recommendations under limited guidance.
  • Manage correspondence and relationships with grant recipients, research institutions and funding partners.
  • Prepare briefs, reports and ministerial/executive correspondence – identify risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Work collaboratively to resolve complex issues and keep accurate records in line with APS standards.
About you
  • Previous experience in grants (essential).
  • Experience in health research or health-related programs (highly desirable).
  • Strong analytical skills, clear written and verbal communication and the ability to deliver results in a changing environment.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach consistent with APS values.

Casual Loading

Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
