Role Description
Unity Grammar is a dynamic, fast-growing and co-educational College, our purpose is to nurture leaders of the future driven by a commitment to our Islamic faith. As such, the Leadership Development Advisor's responsibility is to embed into our curriculum and program the stage specific leadership experiences, skills, attitudes, mindsets, and knowledge that ensure the development of leadership attributes in all of our learners. This is a par-time role (0.4FTE) commencing January 2023.
Requirements And Responsibilities
The Leadership Development Advisor leads and directs the creation of a leadership development program that is embedded in the curriculum experiences and aligned with the school's vision and mission which is centered around the creation of leaders out of all students from K-12.
- The role will focus on driving an uplifting in leadership capability across the school until there is evidence of excellence in leadership every day and in everything that the learners undertake.
- The role identifies, designs, and develops frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities critical to long-term and short-term objectives. The Leadership Development Advisor will create specific programs and initiatives to support students in developing the knowledge and skills required to become change makers and step up to managerial and leadership roles upon graduating.
- The role will be focused on enabling our learners to develop skills through experiential learning. The role will seek out leadership experiences along with identifying partners through which learners can undertake meaningful leadership experiences – these could be corporate or charitable partners who can facilitate the development of leadership in our learners such as volunteering or service of others.
- The role entails creating strategic school imperatives and developing capabilities of our learners to become leaders in various situations, be it school, extra-curricular activities and in their personal life as character development.
- Being a Leadership Development Advisor aligns training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments to the leadership development strategy.
- Develops approaches to engage individuals in well-defined and ongoing school leadership development program.
- The role will foster a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training to engage and develop the learner body.
- Creates groups of individuals identified for further leadership development experiences.
- Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
To be a Leadership Development Advisor you will need to have a passion for fostering leaders and have a proven ability to connect parties for a shared vision along with exposure to leadership experiences in various settings.
- Evidence of 1 - 3 years in mentoring and developing leaders is advantageous.
- Education industry experience required along with a current Working with Children Check.
