About The RoleJoin our Dynamic Immunisation Team and make a real difference to the Merri-bek community whilst maintaining flexibility and work-life balance on a casual basis.
In this role you will provide a safe and effective immunisation service in accordance with the National Immunisation Program to residents, school students and employees within the Merri-bek City Council municipality.
Key responsibilities- Oversee the running of immunisation sessions as rostered, with the opportunity to work as Nurse-in-Charge on required sessions
- Administer vaccines
- Maintain cold chain of vaccines and vaccine stock levels
- Deliver the National Immunisation Program (NIP) through preparation, documentation at sessions, tallying and balancing of vaccines given, and if required assisting with data processing within the current immunisation database
- Specialist knowledge to assess client's immunisation status and history and to administer appropriate vaccines
- Develop immunisation catch-up plans as required
- Your skills and experience as an Immunisation nurse to safely and effectively administer vaccines
- Ability to apply CPR and anaphylaxis/immunisation emergency training within the community
- Ability to administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections and interact effectively with children, adolescents, families and adults
- Your excellent customer service skills to provide the ultimate customer experience when accessing the Immunisation service
- Your knowledge and skills to maintain cold chain of vaccines and vaccine stock levels
- Your ability to carry out your tasks safely with minimal supervision
