A new manufacturing facility is being established in Australia to produce specialised products for use in therapeutic applications. Position
We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead financial strategy, planning, and operational analysis in a highly regulated, GMP-compliant manufacturing environment. This role will partner closely with senior leadership, operations, quality, and supply chain to ensure the commercial success and efficiency of the organisation. You will be responsible for:
- Leading annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning.
- Developing robust manufacturing cost models (BOMs, routings, activity-based costing).
- Analysing manufacturing variances and driving operational improvements.
- Overseeing financial inputs into ERP systems and ensuring accurate, timely reporting to multiple stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and GMP requirements.
Profile
Ideally CA or CPA-qualified with expertise in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, and operational analysis. Your career background will likely include:
- Senior finance leadership in manufacturing, biotech, pharmaceutical, medical devices, FMCG or other regulated sectors.
- Experience building and implementing ERP-driven costing models and financial systems.
- Strong capability in financial modelling, variance analysis, and profitability optimisation.
- A track record of working closely with operational teams to improve production efficiency and margin performance.
- The ability to operate in a start-up or scale-up environment, establishing structure while maintaining agility.
- You combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, have strong influencing skills, and are comfortable navigating complexity in a regulated, high-growth setting.
- Shape the financial strategy of a pioneering, high-tech manufacturing facility.
