Where You'll Be Working

An exciting opportunity awaits a clinician eager to develop or enhance their expertise in working with children, adolescents, and their families/carers within the Whole Family Team. As a vital member of this multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with diverse professionals to deliver trauma-informed clinical interventions and therapies. Your focus will be on addressing mental health challenges, child protection concerns, and AOD issues. This role offers a unique chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people and their families by utilising the extensive resources and support available within the Whole Family Team.

We Have 2 Opportunities Available
  • There is a fulltime position available in the Hunter Valley Region based at the High Street campus in Maitland.
  • There is a fulltime position available in the Greater Newcastle Region based at James Fletcher Campus Newcastle.

About The Role

This is a unique opportunity to support families referred by the Department of Communities and Justice and/or the CAMHS service. You'll play a crucial role in delivering clinical interventions, with much of the work taking place directly in the family home, allowing for a deeper connection and impact. This dynamic role also includes some travel, providing a varied and engaging work environment as you bring vital support to families.

About You

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate mental health clinician with experience supporting children, adolescents, and their families. You have a strong understanding of trauma and its effects on young people, and the ability to deliver interventions that are empathetic, evidence-based, and tailored to individual needs. Skilled in managing and de-escalating crises, you can provide calm, effective support during challenging situations, helping young people and their families feel heard, safe, and empowered.

Requirements
  • Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Clin Psychology/clin psych in training, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health, Djirruwang Program), which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the service.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and interstate and the willingness to travel in the course of employment.
