The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Melbourne is one of the world's great children's hospitals. We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria with care extending to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states. The hospital provides a full range of tertiary clinical services, health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people, high level research and education services. RCH has more than 6,000 staff, a budget of $850M, 12 wards and 350 beds.
RCH is a cornerstone member of the Melbourne Children's Campus, partnering with Murdoch Children's Research Institute, The University of Melbourne Department of Pediatrics and The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation. 2026 Digital Innovation Fellow (EMR) – The Digital Innovation team has established this informatics and education role. The role is offered for 12 months and can be filled by either 1 person at 0.5FTE or 2 persons (1 at 0.2FTE, 1 at 0.3FTE).
Primary Responsibilities- The primary purpose of this position is to work as part of the Digital Innovation team to assist medical staff and teams using the EMR to optimise efficiency. It also delivers EMR education and educational support to new and existing medical staff at RCH.
- Contribute to the medical speciality optimisation program to enhance doctors' efficiency and EMR utilisation.
- Contribute to governance of the Digital Innovation team's decisions on the build and tools used by junior doctors.
- Review and maintain the EMR medical curriculum and resources and its modes of delivery, including providing expert support.
- Collaborate with Medical Informaticians on informatics projects.
- Advise the education team on the EMR medical curriculum and delivery of education.
- Support the development of an Informatics workforce within RCH.
The position is based in Parkville at The Royal Children's Hospital. Previous experience in Epic functionality is essential.
