Our global operations are located in two of the largest and most productive metallurgical coal basins in the world, the Bowen Basin in Queensland, Australia and the Central Appalachian region of the US, servicing customers throughout the Asia-Pacific, Americas and Europe.

Curragh Mine is one of the largest open-cut coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin and located only 12 kilometres from the local township of Blackwater.

About The Role

Coronado is seeking a Maintenance Planner on a 15-month Fixed-Term contract. Reporting to the Planning and Warehouse Superintendent, you'll be the key link between maintenance and production, ensuring mechanical maintenance is well-coordinated and executed efficiently. This role will be based at our Curragh Complex in Blackwater.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and schedule mechanical maintenance activities, inspections, and shutdowns to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Work closely with maintenance and production teams to prioritise tasks based on operational needs and resource availability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance strategies, boost equipment reliability, and optimise efficiency.
  • Ensure all mechanical work complies with statutory regulations and safety requirements.
  • Maintain clear records and provide timely updates to support decision-making across teams.

What You'll Bring
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Understanding of asset management, life cycle costing, and budget forecasting.
  • Knowledge of statutory laws for open-cut coal mine maintenance.
  • Skilled in SAP; Prometheus experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
