Business Development Manager - (12month contract)
About the jobWe're on the lookout for a results-driven, sales-focused Business Development Manager to accelerate Elastic's growth and expand our client base. This is a true hunter role, you'll be creating opportunities, opening doors, and building a strong pipeline of new business across multiple markets. You'll be joining a creatively led agency with big ideas, a collaborative spirit and a genuine love for what we do. This role is all about identifying new opportunities, building strong relationships and helping us shape the next chapter of growth.

Your roleAs a Business Development Manager at Elastic, you'll lead the charge on new business in Melbourne - building relationships, shaping proposals and helping to convert opportunities into lasting client partnerships. You'll also provide leadership to a small, motivated team and help connect the Melbourne office to the wider agency group.
A typical day might includeNew business & growth
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across a range of sectors
- Building and managing a healthy pipeline of leads
- Leading new business conversations, proposals, credentials and pitches
- Collaborating with the creative, strategy and production teams to respond to briefs
- Attending events, building relationships, and representing Elastic in the market
- Tracking and reporting new business performance
- Client and commercial insight
- Working closely with senior stakeholders to align on growth priorities
- Developing tailored proposals that clearly communicate our capabilities and value
- Staying across market trends and competitor activity
- Providing day-to-day leadership and guidance to the local team
- Helping to foster a motivated, connected and high-performing culture in Melbourne
- Working closely with Sydney leadership to ensure a unified approach
- Mentoring junior team members and providing direction when needed
- Contributing to cross-office collaboration, knowledge sharing and team connection
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in business development, sales or client growth within a creative, marketing or agency environment
- A proven track record in converting opportunities and driving revenue
- Confidence presenting to clients and leading pitch conversations
- Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of how creative work delivers business outcomes
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, goal-oriented approach - comfortable working independently
- Experience supporting or managing a small team
