About The RoleThis role is 75.5 hours per fortnight, Monday-Thursday night shifts each week, and 1 Sunday Day shift each fortnight. We are seeking a passionate and experienced House Companion to join our team at the Korongee Dementia Village, part of Glenview Community Services\' dynamic and innovative aged care services. This part-time role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate and person-centred care in a purpose-built, dementia-friendly environment located in Glenorchy, Tasmania.
What You'll Be Doing- Providing high-quality personal care and daily living assistance to residents, including personal hygiene, mobility support, and social engagement
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team to implement individualised care plans that promote residents\' independence, wellbeing, and quality of life
- Fostering a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment that celebrates residents\' uniqueness and supports their cognitive, physical, and emotional needs
- Actively participating in team meetings, training, and professional development to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge
- Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in providing person-centred care to older adults, particularly those living with dementia
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with residents, families, and the care team
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach, with a genuine commitment to promoting the wellbeing and quality of life for residents
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a dynamic environment
- Current right to work in Australia
- Ability to obtain and maintain a clear National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People Check with NDIS endorsement
