TP Human Capital is working with a government client in Townsville to recruit a Communications Officer on a contract basis until July 2026.

This 36.25 hours per week role at $52 per hour will support communication plans and campaigns to engage and inform the Townsville community. The successful candidate will help create content, manage communication channels, and coordinate with external providers to ensure quality and value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with strategic and tactical communication plans and campaigns
  • Develop marketing and communication materials across multiple channels
  • Support organisation-wide communication strategies
  • Manage external suppliers and contracts
  • Maintain up-to-date and engaging information across council communication channels
Requirements
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum three years in a similar communications role, including digital and social media experience
  • Strong written communication skills tailored to different audiences and channels
