The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and detail-oriented Communications Officer to join a collaborative team committed to delivering impactful communication and engagement initiatives. In this role, you'll assist in the development and delivery of high-quality, strategic and tactical communication plans that inform and engage the broader community. You will contribute to the creation of innovative marketing and engagement materials, ensure communication channels remain current and relevant, and support the delivery of digital consultation opportunities. Additionally, you'll liaise with external service providers to ensure projects meet required standards and provide value for money. Working across departments, you will help shape consistent, meaningful communication that supports organisational objectives and reflects the values of a dynamic, community-focused organisation.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a communications or engagement role with demonstrated success in content creation, campaigns and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong writing skills for a range of audiences and platforms, with a focus on clarity, engagement, and influence.
  • Familiarity with digital engagement tools and social media platforms.
  • IAP2 Certificate of Engagement or willingness to obtain.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to influence and build positive relationships.
  • Project and time management skills, with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
