NQ Dry Tropics is seeking a creative communications professional with at least three years' experience in communications or journalism, who is ready to take the next step in their career at an organisation dedicated to helping North Queenslanders manage land, water, soil, plants, and animals more sustainably.
If you are a storyteller with a passion for developing and disseminating content on multiple formats and platforms, we want to hear from you. The successful candidate will work with Program and Project Managers to develop and implement communications strategies and actions, ensuring NQ Dry Tropics' work is effectively communicated to key audiences. They will also travel around the region attending events, meeting a variety of stakeholders, and capturing their perspectives.
With a brand new website launching soon, and several new projects to promote, this is an exciting opportunity to make your mark as part of an experienced, passionate Communications Team.
Requirements
Excellent writer and storyteller experienced at identifying communications opportunities, developing materials, disseminating them across a variety of platforms, and reporting on achievements.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and respectfully engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including graziers, cane farmers, Traditional Owners, and other community members, to identify and gather story content through interviews.
Self-starter able to work quickly under pressure, prioritise effectively, and problem solve to deliver on a brief.
Ability to competently photograph people and landscapes in a variety of settings, including at workshops, field days, forums and site visits.
