Overview

Our Townsville Home and Community Service is seeking part-time Support Services Workers. Our Support Services Workers provide invaluable support by providing general household cleaning, laundry, cooking and social support to our older population with help around their homes.

Multiple shifts available across Monday to Friday within the hours of 7am to 7pm.

About the role
  • The physical demands of this role will include standing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching etc.
  • Ensure cleaning and other service standards outlined by Anglicare are met at all times
  • Ensure duties are completed within the expected timeframe
  • Use equipment as instructed to minimise risk of injury, and follow all manual handling and safe driving practices, in accordance with procedures and training
About you
  • Comfortable in the use of housekeeping equipment
  • Able to follow domestic care plans
  • Clear communicator who can maintain professional boundaries with clients and their families
  • Demonstrated ability to be able to work independently and effectively with the elderly
  • A Certificate II or III in Asset Maintenance (Cleaning Operations) will be highly regarded but not required
Qualifications
  • Current Driver Licence and your own reliable vehicle
  • A current National Police Certificate
  • Strongly recommended immunisations: Tetanus and Hepatitis B shots (but not mandatory)
