About the Role

Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) – permanent part-time, 21 hours per week, working 3 consecutive days. Location: Uniting's Counselling and Mediation Centre, Penrith.

Hours: Thursdays 10:00am – 6:00pm; Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9:00am – 5:00pm.

As an FDRP, you'll provide family dispute resolution services to post-separation families experiencing conflict and lacking agreements about children or property. You may deliver online video appointments, legally-assisted mediation, and child-inclusive practice as part of Uniting's FDR approach. You will work with a dynamic team of FDRPs and therapists to support families holistically.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Family Dispute Resolution services for families post-separation with varying levels of conflict.
  • Deliver online video appointments, legally-assisted mediation, and child-inclusive practice.
  • Collaborate with a team of FDRPs and therapists to support holistic family outcomes.
About You
  • Accredited by the Australian Attorney‑General's Department (AGD) as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, or eligible for accreditation. Evidence of eligibility required; contact AGD Practitioner Accreditation Unit if unsure.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, psychology, or social work.
  • Understanding of child-inclusive mediation practice and family law legislation.
  • Knowledge of community services for families experiencing relationship difficulties and understanding of child protection issues.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills; computer literacy.
  • Meet program-specific client targets.
