Business Development Director - Australia and New Zealand

$170,000 – $180,000 per year + Super & Commission

About the role

Based in our Head Office in Essendon Fields with hybrid working opportunities available, an excellent career opportunity exists for a Business Development Director who has a strong desire to contribute and participate in the exciting opportunities arising within a dynamic, technology business with growth and expansion plans.

Working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, this position is responsible for driving new growth by identifying, pursuing and closing opportunities for Elenium by leveraging knowledge of information technologies and the aviation industry. Additionally, this position retains and grows business with existing customers and owns the customer relationship, focussing on building customer satisfaction and loyalty. Furthermore, the role produces cost effective solutions to customers based on their requirements, strong solution knowledge and professional services.

Core focus of this role will be markets in Australia and New Zealand. This is a high profile role within Elenium and central to the continued growth and success the business is undergoing.

While Melbourne-based candidates are preferred and advantageous, suitable candidates based anywhere in Australia to work remotely with occasional travel to Melbourne will be considered.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

Grow Elenium's business with new customers across Australia and New Zealand

Maintain our business with existing clients and grow the Elenium footprint within your customer portfolio

Build lasting customer stakeholder relationships across multiple functions, from technical teams to C-Suite

Develop, maintain and execute an Account and/or country growth strategy

Be the interface to customers on technical and commercial matters

Networking and cold calling to find new prospects

Taking a proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities

Skills and experience

Experience

Must be an Australian Citizen or have Permanent Residency.

Extensive experience with sales/solution design/sales support, preferably within aviation, the air transport industry (ATI), SaaS or equivalent sector or market.

Proven successful experience in Management of complex and large Accounts and bids.

Track record of achieving/exceeding sales targets.

Experience in building client relationships at CXOs and/or Senior Management level.

Commercial and financial awareness.

Knowledge of technologies around passenger management applications.

Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to maintain excellent relationships with a range of key stakeholders, to include key decision makers.

Good organisational skills with an ability to plan and prioritise competing work requirements and work towards tight deadlines.

Adaptable and able to work autonomously and in dynamic, fast paced team environment.

Proactive and reactive problem solving skills with an ability to "think outside the box"

Bonus Points for the Following:

Degree in Engineering, Aviation or Computer Technologies

Knowledge of technical, operational and commercial aspects of the aviation industry
