Responsibilities

Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, this parental leave contract will manage end-to-end accounts payable processes for MSF Australia and MSF New Zealand.

This role focuses on timely completion of accounts payable, bank reconciliations, invoicing, and expense reporting. It supports the finance team and liaises with suppliers to ensure financial compliance and best practices. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage end-to-end accounts payable processes, including invoice entry for AU and NZ
  • Preparation of Business Activity Statements and supporting reports
  • Management of foreign exchange and international transactions
  • Weekly bank reconciliations and account monitoring
  • Assist with audits
  • Manage Donations-in-Kind Register and review donations
  • Systems and vendor relationship management
  • Month-end credit card reconciliations
  • Reporting and compliance

Requirements

To succeed in this autonomous role, you should have a good understanding of finance systems and excellent interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and motivation to work in the humanitarian sector are essential. Ideally, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance and accounts payable experience
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with NetSuite is a plus
