
Injury Management and Workers Compensation Specialist

Injury Management and Workers Compensation Specialist role at Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA). This position is part of the TMHA National Safety Team and exists to mitigate risks of workplace injuries across TMHA and effectively manage injury management and rehabilitation for injured employees. The role provides strong, professional and well-considered injury management advice and guidance to TMHA operations.
Note: This role is not a hybrid role and requires attendance at the Head Office located in Moorebank 5 days per week.
Responsibilities & Duties- Coordinating and administering Workers Compensation insurance premiums estimates and actuals, in conjunction with the payroll team. Prepare submissions to ensure renewals processes are followed and insurances are current.
- Effectively manage and coordinate injury management across TMHA by case managing and providing professional advice to relevant managers and branch-based Return to Work Coordinators.
- Liaise with insurers across Australia to ensure effective and proactive management of claims and injuries and successful rehabilitation of injured employees.
- Be familiar with all relevant workers compensation legal frameworks across Australia states and territories.
- Maintain strong knowledge of all TMHA workplace injuries and coordinate rehabilitation and injury management activities accordingly.
- Assist the NSCM to undertake in-depth investigations into workplace injuries to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Manage and administer TMHA workers compensation insurance policies, including submitting required information to insurers and reviewing and projecting claims and premium costs.
- Advise TMHA Management and Return-to-Work Coordinators on day-to-day implementation of injury management and workers compensation claims strategies to ensure legislative compliance.
- Tertiary qualification in Safety, Social Science, Occupational Health, Ergonomics, Human Resources or related fields
- Minimum of 5 years of injury management experience with operational exposure to the industrial sector (manufacturing/logistics or related industries)
- Strong working knowledge of WHS and Workers Compensation legislation across all Australian states and territories
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong computer skills including Excel proficiency
- Strong analytical and investigative skills
- Experience in implementing new safety methodologies and initiatives (Desirable)
- Internal auditing experience (Desirable)
- Expertise in workplace incident investigation (Desirable)
