Overview

Director, Procurement Operations Health Share NSW – HealthShare NSW, St Leonards. An exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to shape the delivery of world-class support services to the NSW public health system.

Role Outline

The Director, Procurement Operations provides leadership, management and advice on the development and delivery of the NSW Health procurement and supply chain service to the NSW Health system. The role leads sourcing and contract management across the NSW Health system and manages the NSW Health supply chain; contributing to ensuring NSW Health optimises procurement value and delivers on organisational procurement strategies, priorities and objectives. The primary purpose is to lead and promote the implementation of best practice product sourcing, warehousing, supply chain logistics and distribution, and contract management on behalf of the NSW Health system. The role requires an advanced ability to deliver in these areas, leveraging relevant capabilities and experience. A track record of leadership in a customer-focused service within a complex service delivery environment is essential. Knowledge of procurement and contract management best practice, and the ability to develop opportunities to enhance organisational performance, competitiveness, business value and customer service, are required. Integrity, collaboration, delivery of results, problem solving, optimising business outcomes and people management are key capabilities. The role also expects the ability to meet procurement standards and maintain a safe, constructive workplace culture. Ideally, experience in managing a geographically dispersed system of service delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead sourcing and contract management across the NSW Health system and manage the NSW Health supply chain to optimise procurement value and deliver on procurement strategies, priorities and objectives.
  • Promote and implement best practice product sourcing, warehousing, supply chain logistics and distribution, and contract management.
  • Provide leadership for a customer‑focused service in a complex delivery environment.
  • Ensure procurement standards are met and maintain a safe, constructive workplace culture.
  • Possess knowledge of governance, probity and working with a geographically dispersed service delivery network (ideally).
Essential Requirements / Qualifications
  • Appropriate senior executive level experience and tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience in business or procurement.
  • Understanding of Government policies and practice in procurement, business reform and corporate services.
  • Knowledge of industry processes and practice related to supply chain management, service agreements, contract management, contract law, probity and contract dispute resolution.
  • Band 1, Health Service Senior Executive (HSSE) level; attractive remuneration package in the range of $267,296 to $292,242, with annual performance reviews.
