We are seeking an experienced Senior People Partner for this full-time, ongoing position based at Doncaster. This role will operate within the broader Workplace and Employee Relations team which includes both strategic and operational focused professionals and will manage a small team of HR professionals in support of AV. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at our Doncaster Headquarters and other role required locations in line with our hybrid working model.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, Workplace and Employee Relations, this role will partner with senior executives and stakeholders to lead people related initiatives and provide high level advice and guidance on people related matters such as managing people, resolving conflict, performance management, early resolution solutions on workplace relations matters, change management, workforce and succession planning and wellbeing and culture. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provide high-level and pragmatic people related advice including operational and non-operational business areas within AV through the business partnership model
  • Manage a small team of HR professionals in the delivery of high-level HR advice and guidance
  • Provide executives and managers with high level strategic advice, coaching and support on a broad range of complex people-related issues and practices, offering solutions in line with relevant AV policy, legislation, industrial awards, and broader government policy
  • Work closely with senior leaders to improve workplace relationships, build capability, workforce planning, diversity, culture, and engagement and in the health and safety
  • Drive the implementation, monitoring and contribution to the development and review of HR policies, processes and procedures based on relevant legislation and contemporary HR management practices
  • Actively coach direct reports, peers, and stakeholders in performing people management responsibilities effectively, including annual People processes, Employee Relations issues and leadership development capability

About you

The successful candidate will have completion of a postgraduate degree or relevant industry certification with extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and high-level relevant experience

Additional requirements include but not limited to:

  • Extensive experience leading large-scale change programs in complex organisations
  • High level expertise, detailed knowledge of principles and concepts in one or more of the People Services fields/disciplines
  • Demonstrated record of achieving results, taking responsibility, and setting high standards within a complex HR function supporting a geographically disparate organisation
  • Ability to motivate people and build and maintain a high achieving team culture
