Sydney, New South Wales, Australia HPX Group Full time

The role

This newly created position will give you the opportunity to join Australia's fastest growing professional services group, including Hamilton Locke, Source, Helios Salinger and Materra. We're helping shape the future of the professional services industry, and if you're someone who thrives on building strong relationships and bringing fresh thinking to complex challenges, you'll feel right at home.

You will be a key member of our Risk and Compliance team, and working closely with key senior stakeholders, will gain exposure to business risk, strategy and compliance issues. We are a culture-led environment with a genuinely unique strategy, where we put the personal and professional development of our people at the centre of everything we do. A collaborative, team-centric approach will ensure you thrive in this role.

This role can be completed from any of our east-coast offices (Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne, or Brisbane) or New Zealand (Auckland), and is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility of both in-office and remote work. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively from home or in our office as needed and be able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and oversee the Group's AML/CTF compliance activities, including data processing and KYC/CDD procedures to support client onboarding and AML/CTF risk assessments;
  • Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of the AML/CTF compliance program, and making recommendations for improvements;
  • Engaging with key client relationships and external stakeholders, including AUSTRAC, external auditors, third-party providers and industry peers;
  • Reporting to senior management on AML/CTF risks and controls;
  • Managing and implementing relevant training;
  • Implementing processes and protocols for risk assessment and suspicious matter reporting;
  • Helping manage the Group's conflict of interests process and function; and
  • Assisting the General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel with other legal and governance-related activities and projects.

About you

We're on the lookout for a good human — someone who's technically strong and commercially minded and has:

  • 3+ years' experience in a similar risk and compliance role, ideally within legal or financial services;
  • experience managing AML/CTF compliance activities, highly regarded;
  • thrives in a growing and fast environment;
  • strong communication skills and excellent organisational abilities;
  • excellent attention to detail; and
  • can efficiently manage multiple priorities.
