Your New Role:
The Senior Manager, Events is responsible for the seamless execution of events, including managing contracts, budgets, and schedules. This role involves coordinating with stakeholders, conducting postevent analyses, and implementing process optimisations. The Senior Manager, Events manages the administrative requirements of the Events team while leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.
Key activities include (but are not limited to):
- Managing financial records, processing invoices, tracking expenses, and handling contract negotiations.
- Overseeing financial aspects, including forecasting costs, tracking expenses, and reconciliation activities.
- Organising meetings, tracking deadlines, managing project timelines, and distributing tasks
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management inc assisting with venue booking, vendor coordination, and behind-the-scenes logistics
- Ensuring permits, insurance, and legal requirements are met while maintaining health & safety compliance. Overseeing event software, CRM systems, and digital tools.
- Identifying opportunities to improve document handling and system processes
- Handling event-related documentation
- Post-Event Evaluation & Improvement
- Mentor and support the Event Managers and administrators
Please note, this is a permanent full-time position and requires travel and out of business hours work from time to time.
About You:
- PCO experience is required
- Experience in event logistics, stakeholder communication, and vendor management—even if not in an on-site capacity.
- Understanding of contracts, invoices, budget tracking, and financial reporting processes.
- Familiarity with event management software, CRM tools.
- Experience of managing project budgets.
- Strong forecasting skills and effective use of small budget resources
- Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise and to multi-task.
- Highly motivated, positive and proactive attitude to work and ability to adapt quickly to change.
- Experience working in international or national conferences.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in event management, not essential.
- Experience working for an association and/or professional conferencing environment.
- Management of multiple events simultaneously (highly regarded).
