Overview

Apprentice Parts Interpreter – Certificate III in Automotive Sales
Townsville City Council is currently seeking applications for the 2026 Apprenticeship intake. The role commences in February 2026.

Responsibilities

• Undertakes a competency-based apprenticeship to develop a range of skills in parts interpreting and ordering tasks in a safe, efficient and effective manner as part of on-the-job training required of the parts interpreter apprenticeship.

About You

• Willingness to be part of, and promote, a positive safety culture whilst adhering to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Minimum completed of Year 10 with passes in English and Mathematics.
• Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers' licence (or ability to obtain).
• Sound written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound computer skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Willingness to undertake the requirements to successfully complete the associated qualification.

About the Role / Qualification

Under close supervision, this position undertakes a competency-based apprenticeship to develop a range of skills in parts interpreting and ordering tasks. This includes completing a 4-year Certificate III in Automotive Sales at TAFE North Queensland. For more information on the qualification through TAFE, please visit the linked provider.
