OverviewAs a Senior Safety Risk & Assurance Specialist, you will play a key part in enabling leaders and teams across Airservices to effectively manage operational safety risks and meet compliance obligations in a safety-critical environment. You will lead assurance activities to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of key risk controls and compliance with internal and external requirements. You will identify opportunities for improvement and drive initiatives that enhance safety outcomes. Your influence will extend across business functions to coordinate safety initiatives and foster a proactive safety culture.

- Identify opportunities for improvement and drive initiatives to enhance safety outcomes.
- Coordinate safety initiatives across business functions and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Contribute to the Safety Risk & Assurance program of work and support a proactive safety culture.
- Significant practical experience in safety risk management within a safety-regulated industry (e.g., Aviation, Rail, Oil and Gas, Defence).
- Tertiary qualification in safety risk management, engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Well-developed knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and practical application of an SMS.
- Experience planning and coordinating work with monitoring of deadlines and milestones.
- Ability to analyse numerical and verbal data to propose solutions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners; strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in an Air Traffic Control environment or as a pilot is advantageous.
- Two roles available: one permanent full-time position and one full-time 12-month fixed-term position.
- Locations: Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, or Melbourne (hybrid working environment).
- ASA7A level; Full Time Permanent / Fixed Term.
Security clearance: Australian Citizenship or Permanent Resident required; background check applies.
