Overview

National Risk and Safety Manager - Supply Chain

This is an opportunity to step into a newly created role with a leading nationally listed business where scale, complexity and transformation intersect. You'll be leading safety and risk across one of Australia's largest national supply networks, driving a proactive, safety-first mindset from senior leadership to shopfloor.

About the opportunity: This is a household name with a proud Australian heritage and a presence that touches every state. The supply chain spans major cities and regional hubs, touching millions of customers yearly. The organisation has invested significantly in technology to modernise operations in a large-scale transformation project, and the mandate now falls to a strong leader to drive performance across the network.

What you'll be doing: As the National Risk and Safety Manager - Supply Chain, you'll be the centre of the next phase of safety strategy, embedding best practice and creating impact across a high-performing business. You'll partner with leaders across the business, influence decision making and build a culture that goes beyond "compliance" into proactive and forward-thinking risk management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead national safety strategy across distribution, transport and warehouse portfolios
  • Build capability across the network at all levels, both subject matter and cross-functional
  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset through innovation, acknowledge compliance and then build towards raising the bar
  • Influence key senior leaders with data-driven reporting and solutions that balance operational delivery and risk outcomes
Who you are

You are a proven safety leader, ideally with regional or national experience in high-risk environments. The role is well-suited to someone from supply chain, logistics or broader 3PL, but manufacturing experience with a warehousing footprint will also be considered. You should be credible at managing up and down the organisational hierarchy, able to present to executives in the boardroom while remaining effective at the coalface. You'll have experience with transformation or capability uplift projects and managing change at scale.

Why this role

This goes beyond compliance—it's safety transformation. You will be supported by senior leaders invested in outcomes and will have the opportunity to shape the culture of a highly visible, complex business. The role is earmarked for future succession planning to a "Head Of" level, suitable for a leader with aspirations for group-level responsibility within one of Australia's most recognisable names.

Requirements

Experience in safety leadership within national or regional roles across high-risk environments. Background in supply chain, logistics or broader 3PL is preferred; manufacturing with warehousing experience is also considered. Strong ability to manage relationships across the organisation and communicate effectively with executives and at the front line. Demonstrated capability to lead transformation and capability uplift projects at scale.
