About the Role

Reporting to the Head of People Partnering, the role leads one of two teams of People & Culture (P&C) professionals to deliver outstanding customer service to managers and employees at our Melbourne Public Hospital. Working with both line managers and senior leaders, the role is a trusted advisor to the organisation.

The role also represents St Vincent's Melbourne Public Hospital in Victorian Hospitals Industrial Association (VHIA) reference groups and leads SVHM representation to VHIA for all industrial matters including enterprise agreement negotiations, implementation and the ongoing management of industrial advice on the enterprise agreements.

Providing operational and strategic HR advice to the organisation including interpretation of agreements, complex HR matters, workforce planning and change management

Support the team of Senior People Partners and People Partners to ensure the team's work is aligned to the requirements of the organisation, act as an escalation point for complex matters, and provide coaching and feedback to support the team's development and performance

Represent the hospital working with the VHIA and various unions to negotiate, implement and monitor the enterprise agreements employees work under

The role is covered by the Health and Allied, Managers and Admin Award, Grade 5, with an over-award total remuneration package ranging from $140,000 to $150,000 (inclusive of superannuation), commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

Your Contribution

Extensive experience in providing generalist human resources services in a unionised environment

Employee relations and/or industrial relations experience including contemporary understanding of legislation, hands on experience in enterprise agreement interpretation and implementation, managing Fair Work Commission cases including representation at the Commission

Strong business partnering and internal consulting experience, demonstrating strong relationship management skills across the different levels of an organisation

Strong written and verbal skills, including experience in writing executive-level documents

Demonstrated capacity in leading a team of professionals, with strong organisational skills

Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, with intermediate Excel capability

Experience in using HRIS and Payroll systems, including report building and providing business requirements to systems teams to implement changes and investigate root cause of issues

Demonstrated commitment to professional development, with strong understanding of contemporary P&C practices
