As the Group Financial Controller, you will be reporting directly to the Franchisor, providing insights and guidance to support critical business decisions, facilitate change and strengthen financial processes. You'll be a driver to oversee and design financial strategy, reporting, and operations to elevate the company's financial health and stability.
This is a pivotal executive role in driving financial excellence and requires a proactive mindset with superior operational expertise and energy to drive continuous improvements that promote strategic financial outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance, accurate financial reporting, and sound fiscal management to support the business model\'s scalability and profitability.
- Manage and optimise rebate systems and supplier relationships.
- Manage consolidation of reports, performance analysis and KPI tracking.
- Analyse revenue, profit margins, and expenses to inform cost management strategies.
- Oversee annual financial planning and provide commercial insights to leverage and influence results.
- Lead, grow and mentor an existing finance team as the business continues to grow.
- Ensure robust financial risk management frameworks are in place.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, contributing to meetings and strategic objectives.
- Implement and optimise financial controls and procedures.
- Deliver timely and accurate end-of-month (EOM) and end-of-financial-month (EFM) reports.
- Manage cashflow, forecasting, accounts receivable/payable, and payroll processes.
- A minimum of 4 years as a financial controller with experience within FMCG, food retail, or large-format convenience sectors.
- Relevant tertiary education (CPA/CA desirable).
- IT-savvy, with strong analytical skills and experience leveraging financial systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a collaborative approach.
- Proven leadership skills to manage and develop a team.
- Ability to facilitate financial strategies to propel efficiency and profitability.
- Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Skilled in stock control, reconciliations, and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and passion for continuous improvement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
