About The Role
Reporting into the Group's financial control team, the primary focus of the Group Financial Accountant is to undertake a range of accounting tasks including preparing and processing journals, ongoing management of account reconciliations, analysing and reporting financial information and providing technical and administrative support to the finance team generally.
The role is responsible for ensuring allocated month-end tasks, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting activities are completed in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.
The role collaborates with other Group Financial Accountants and assists Group Finance Managers in ensuring the Bank meets its management and statutory reporting deadlines.
Furthermore, the role contributes towards the consolidation and standardisation of financial control activities to drive efficiency and enhanced controls, providing a platform to transition to the target future state in line with the broader Finance Transformation agenda.
This role is a 12 month max term contract.
Qualifications
About you
- Bachelor of Bus/Comm (Accounting), CPA / CA/ICAA qualified (or international equivalent)
Experience
- Multiple years accounting experience ideally within a financial control function
- Exposure to banking financial ledgers and statements
- Proven technical accounting skills and interpretation of new accounting standards.
Knowledge & Competencies
- Ability to work directly with other Financial Accounting staff
- Consistent ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision from management.
