Duties
  • Greet and serve customers in a courteous, professional and efficient manner
  • Provide information on beverage selections, specials and promotions
  • Handle customer queries and complaints in line with venue policies
  • Prepare, mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to standard recipes
  • Monitor customer consumption and apply RSA principles, including refusing service when required
  • Accurately measure and serve drinks
  • Ensure compliance with liquor licensing legislation, RSA laws and venue-specific policies
  • Monitor patrons' behaviour and intervene where necessary to maintain a safe environment
  • Check identification to confirm legal age requirements
  • Operate point-of-sale systems and process transactions accurately
  • Reconcile cash and sales at the end of shifts
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar, glassware and equipment in accordance with workplace health and safety standards
  • Restock and rotate beverages and consumables as required
  • Report stock shortages, discrepancies, or maintenance issues
  • Follow food safety and hygiene regulations where applicable
Requirements
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) or willingness to obtain same
  • Relevant qualifications in Hospitality or a related field would be highly regarded, but are not essential
  • Minimum one year of experience as a bartender / bar attendant
  • Strong knowledge of drink recipes, mixing techniques and presentation standards
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm under pressure
  • Friendly, energetic, positive, and outgoing personality
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety regulations for food and beverage service
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry moderately heavy trays with glassware and beverages, and bend, stoop, and reach as needed
