Overview

Deputy Dean of Graduate Research (Part-time) – Level C, D or E appointment. Location: UNSW Adelaide, South Australia, Australia.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership on Higher Degree Research (HDR) and support the Pro Vice-Chancellor Research Training and Dean of Graduate Research.
  • Develop and deliver training and development programs for HDR candidates and supervisors.
  • Contribute to national and international representation, and collaborate with senior leaders, industry partners, and other universities.
  • Shape HDR policy and governance and deputise for the Pro Vice-Chancellor as required.
  • Support university-wide platforms and influence senior leaders across faculties; contribute to academic leadership at a G08 university.
  • Part-time (0.6 FTE), 5-year fixed-term contract; appointment at Level C (Senior Lecturer), Level D (Associate Professor), or Level E (Professor), pro-rata.
Qualifications and Selection Criteria
  • Respected academic with a significant record of research, publication, and experience in the higher degree research landscape.
  • Demonstrated commitment to UNSW Sydney's strategic objectives and the ability to contribute to the HDR environment.

Organisation

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research Training (PVCRT) portfolio provides leadership, support, and central administration for HDR candidates, supervisors, and the research community. UNSW supports HDR programs managed at the university level in collaboration with Faculties, Schools and central services. The portfolio aims to build research capacity, enhance researcher experience, and develop researcher capability.
