Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of the full range of internal and external strategic communication and stakeholder engagement activities for major (and state significant) infrastructure projects in the development and construction space, including projects on the Princes Highway south of Nowra. Craft messaging for projects and develop key messaging to be used across platforms such as community updates, email blasts, webpage content and social media.
- Provide communication advice to project teams to develop stakeholder and engagement plans, strategies and materials. Work collaboratively to understand project status, timelines and how milestones are communicated to the community and stakeholders. Facilitate meetings, coordinate and drive events, workshops and community consultation activities.
- Provide strategic advice on the effective management of emerging communications and stakeholder issues and concerns, and work on behalf of stakeholders to resolve significant problems.
- Coordinate media activities and responses to ministerial requests; build and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote open communications and best practice stakeholder engagement initiatives.

- You are comfortable in a complex government environment with strong experience in communications and engagement; time spent in a construction, development or planning space is advantageous. You can manage competing priorities, liaise with multiple stakeholders, and are process driven.
- You are adaptable with strong interpersonal skills and a real passion for having a positive impact on your community.
- Your skills and work experience in communication, engagement, media or public relations matter most; a relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous.
- This role is based in the Wollongong office in the South region. The wider team supports a hybrid working environment, with some time spent at the Wollongong office and at project locations on the NSW South Coast. Reporting to the Community & Customer Engagement Manager, this is a temporary full-time role available until August 2026. Salary for this position is USS 9 ($133,572 - $143,593) per annum plus superannuation.
