The Team:

The Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) is located at Latrobe and specialises in high volume, low case weight procedures. The hospital provides Emergency Department, General Medicine, Close Observation Unit, Day Oncology Services, Rehabilitation Services Unit, Specialist Clinics and is working towards becoming a centre of excellence for short stay surgery in Tasmania. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is accountable for applying nursing expertise and contemporary teaching and learning practice to implement education programs for nurses that align with the strategic priorities of Hospitals North West, respond to emerging clinical need and facilitates professional development for the nursing workforce.

You will need:

High level professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with nursing, midwifery and multidisciplinary stakeholders to enact education and development strategies for nursing and midwifery practice

Experience in working directly with individual nurses to identify missed care and opportunities to extend practice toward improving patient outcomes, including the ability to provide high quality feedback

High-level communication and teamwork skills

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 20 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Salary Packaging:

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
  • Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications in education and/or clinical teaching and learning
  • Holds, or is currently working towards, postgraduate qualifications in the area of clinical/practice speciality as relevant to the position
