The Team:

The Rehabilitation Services Unit at the Mersey Community Hospital is a dedicated 12-bed sub-acute facility committed to delivering exceptional rehabilitation care to patients across the North-West region.

The Rehabilitation Service Unit consists of a highly skilled and knowledgeable multidisciplinary team, dedicated to enhancing our patients functional and cognitive abilities to enhance their independence and improve quality of life post injury or illness. We use an individualised patient centred approach that aims to meet the goals and outcomes mutually identified by the individual, their family, and therapy staff.

The Role:

The Rehabilitation Service Unit at the Mersey Community Hospital are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Consultant to join their team.

As a Clinical Nurse Consultant on the Rehabilitation Service Unit, you will be responsible for:
  • Providing professional advanced clinical leadership and expertise in the delivery of clinical advice, assessments and interventions based on best practice in the health care management of people requiring rehabilitation services from the multidisciplinary Rehabilitation Team.
  • Leading and managing the development of an effective, efficient and dynamic service delivery framework including actively contributing to business planning and evaluation of services for the Rehabilitation Service Unit that will improve clinical outcomes.
  • Undertaking a broad consultative role by initiating and maintaining a comprehensive network with community and support groups and professional associates and developing professional collaborative linkages with other health professionals across the acute and community sectors, working as part of the multidisciplinary Rehabilitation Team and in close collaboration with patients, allied health staff and specialists.
  • Implementing evidence-based practices through teaching, research, policy and protocol development and through direct example within the practice setting.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 32 hours per fortnight, commencing on a mutually agreed date.
  • notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
  • Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Salary Packaging:

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Holds or is working toward relevant tertiary qualifications in rehabilitation nursing.
