The Team

The Operations team is responsible for providing the Client Service & Administration across a full suite of Ord Minnett products including, direct equities, managed investment, structured products and reporting services.

The Role

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and organised Equities Administrator to join our team in the Sydney office. Working amongst a small team, this role is pivotal in ensuring we meet our market obligations across key tasks such as international settlements, corporate actions, and trade bookings. This role will interact with the wider business on a daily basis so effective communication will be critical to achieving success.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • International trade settlement, including processing of FX transactions, funding instructions and reporting.
  • Processing of international asset transfers, including (but not limited to): certificated and electronically held securities, bonds, exchange traded funds and foreign currency.
  • Ensure all corporate actions and ECM deals and are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage the adviser bidding and client allocation processes for IPOs, placements, and rights issues.
  • Trade bookings for domestic equities for both retail and institutional clients.
  • Reviewing and processing off-market transfers and deceased estates processing.
  • Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to resolve adviser/assistant queries.

  • Communicate and escalate all issues/initiatives to the Team Leader in a timely manner.
  • Adherence to Ord Minnett's and regulatory body's compliance at all times.
  • Personal ownership and responsibility of team's daily operations is integral to achieve business outcomes.
  • Be pro-active in recommending changes and improvements in procedures, processes, or system improvement.
  • Must be able to be flexible and adaptable within the team environment.

Required experience/ knowledge:

  • 1-2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant experience in financial services and demonstrated knowledge of domestic/international equities, corporate actions, and/or trade bookings.
  • Knowledge of relevant systems such as Iress, Netx360 and Agility.
  • Proven ability to prioritise work and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft applications (intermediate Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word).
  • Completed diploma/degree in a related field.
