Overview

Case Worker at UnitingCare Queensland — Immediate Housing Response, Southport

Employment Term: Full-time, maximum term until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension. Location: Southport. Remuneration: $85K+ super, with NFP salary packaging up to $15,900 and $2,650 for meals and entertainment.

Join our FaDS (Family and Disability Services) team to support crises, protect vulnerable people and children, and promote financial resilience and family wellbeing across Queensland. The Case Worker will be encouraged to grow, develop and help make everyday life easier for the people we care about.

Responsibilities
  • Based at our Southport site within the Gold Coast Homelessness Service Immediate Housing Response program (fixed-term full-time to June 30, 2026, with a possibility of extension).
  • Provide client-centred case management to single people and couples without children experiencing primary homelessness, using a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach.
  • Assist clients to maintain emergency motel accommodation while working towards their goals and longer-term housing solutions.
  • Identify and assess needs, strengths, safety and risk to develop and implement holistic case plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Utilise strong written communication and IT skills to navigate databases and complete administrative tasks; work autonomously and as part of a professional team.
What makes a difference
  • Experience providing case management support to vulnerable persons in crisis; homelessness sector experience is a distinct advantage, particularly with people who are sleeping rough and have complex barriers to housing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse clients in challenging circumstances.
Requirements
  • Cert IV in Community Services or related field.
  • Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
Desirable
  • Completed or be working towards a Bachelor Degree in a Human Services related field.
