Head of Data Insights and Governance

Join to apply for the Head of Risk Insights and Governance role at Auto & General Australia. We're looking for a senior leader to join Auto & General (A&G) as our new Head of Risk Insights and Governance. This role sits within our Group Risk division and plays a pivotal part in shaping how we manage and report on risk across the business. You'll oversee the design and delivery of risk reporting, policy governance, and data insights that empower our Executive team and Board to make confident, informed decisions. Working closely with leaders across Insurance Australia, Compare the Market, iSelect and beyond, you'll be driving strategic frameworks and delivering clear, timely, and meaningful insights. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity where your expertise will influence risk culture and strengthen compliance across the business.

Position Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and maintaining our Policy Management Framework and Risk Reporting approach.
• Creating and updating supporting resources such as templates, intranet materials, and system enhancements.
• Monitoring and reporting on policy compliance to ensure strong governance.
• Supporting the development of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and measuring against our Risk Appetite Statement.
• Delivering accurate, timely reporting and insights for use by senior leaders and the Board.
• Partnering across the business on risk data analysis and remediation initiatives.
• Leading training and awareness to embed policy and reporting practices.
• Acting as a visible leader and role model, bringing high performance and integrity in line with the A&G Way.

What Experience You'll Bring

To succeed in this role, you'll bring a strong mix of technical expertise and leadership capability, including:

• 15+ years' experience in insurance or financial risk, with a background in Risk, Audit, or Accountancy.
• A proven track record of leading and engaging specialist teams in a collaborative way.
• Strong communication, influence, and negotiation skills.
• The ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the business.
• Experience in the general insurance sector will be highly regarded.
• Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) systems.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications.
