Location: Illawarra Drug & Alcohol Service (iDAS)
Salary: $131,870.90 - $134,500.70 per annum + 12% super & salary packaging

The Nurse Educator role will provide for the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of education programs at the facility level to support development of evidence-based, person-centred care within the Drug and Alcohol Service. Education may include orientation and/or transitioning for new nursing staff and casual nurses as well as meeting ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff and supporting clinical placement of students. It works in collaboration with the D&A Service Nurse Unit Manager/Nurse Manager and the wider hospital teams to develop, implement and evaluate clinical education programs relevant to the D&A specialty, provide clinical supervision at the point of care and support ongoing quality and safety initiatives.
Responsibilities- Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate education programs for the facility to support evidence‑based, person‑centred care in Drug & Alcohol Service.
- Coordinate orientation and ongoing education for nursing staff (including casual staff) and support clinical placements for students.
- Collaborate with service leadership and hospital teams to implement and evaluate clinical education programs; provide clinical supervision at the point of care; focus on quality and safety.
- Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Recent extensive experience in clinical practice within Drug and Alcohol nursing
- Evidence of post‑registration clinical OR education qualifications relevant to the clinical area OR qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer
- Valid NSW Drivers Licence
