Overview

Community Engagement Representative role at Wellways Australia. This full-time opportunity is based in Upper Mount Gravatt. The position supports the Carer Gateway program by promoting Wellways services, leveraging local connections to reach carers who may not access services via the contact centre.

Responsibilities
  • Provide intake, planning and assessment services to carers
  • Supply carers with information on internal and external programs/services
  • Develop action plans using local community knowledge to maintain and strengthen carers' health and wellbeing
  • Connect and source appropriate supports for carers
About the Program

Wellways Australia is the first point of contact for all Australian Government Carer Gateway funded services in South West Sydney and across Queensland. The program helps carers access practical information and connect with local services. Carer supports and services are delivered through a network of local Carer Gateway regional service providers for carers and those who provide care to someone with a disability, mental health issue, chronic health condition, terminal illness or who are frail-aged.

Pre-employment Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Community Development or similar field
  • Evidence of working rights within Australia (e.g., passport or birth certificate)
  • Current valid driver's licence
  • Satisfactory National Police Records Check (less than 12 months)
  • Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check (current or willing to obtain prior to employment)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate: https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/
